An extending pine table restored with an ebony dye and satin varnished tops.
Our customer Robert asked us to restore his pine extending table which had many marks in the tops. He wanted to match in with his new kitchen. After extensive work to tops, frame and legs, we gave the tops a couple of coats of ebony dye, then three coats of satin varnish. The first two coats of satin varnish were coloured with ebony dye to deepen the effect further. We also clear varnished the frame. We raised the table by 20mm, dying the new pieces at the bottom of the legs in ebony to give a retro look.
