An antique two door French Armoire (wardrobe) featuring ornate carvings. Two drawers inside. This piece of Antique French furniture arrived with The Fettling Fairies as a pile of wood! It had been so badly treated and literally sawn apart (possibly to get it up a narrow staircase to a bedroom?). Fortunately we have a very clever and able Practical Fairy who gradually, over months rebuilt this once fine piece of furniture. Our Practical Fairy has reconstructed the Armoire in such a way that should it need to be maneuvered up a narrow staircase again, this time it will easily unbolt. Unfortunately because of the bad treatment it has had in the past no amount of fettling could ever restore this piece to its original splendour. It does have an unusual and contemporary hanging rail fitted which was amongst the pile of wood. There are 2 internal drawers at the bottom.

We have painted the Armoire in "French Grey" acrylic water based satin which we think is sympathetic to the period. We added antique style door furniture as it came without. As with all our painted furniture this piece has also been waxed with Carnauba for protection.
