Our lovely customer Rachel contacted us to see if we could help find her a wide chest of drawers for her master bedroom. She told us that she loved the Regency style and wanted a statement piece.  

After quite a bit of searching, we found this impressive chest, manufactured by Drexel Heritage Furnishings Inc from Drexel in the foothills of North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains. 

Once we got it into our workshops, we proceeded to give it a multi-coat paint finish as follows:

• thorough preparation
• professionally spray painted
• two coats shellac based primer,
• one coat of water based acrylic resin based undercoat
• two coats of water based acrylic satin in 'White Tie' as specified by Rachel
• one coat water based satin varnish

We refitted the original hardware.

We had the added pleasure of being able to deliver personally this extremely heavy piece to Rachel's home in the Northern Lake District and to see it in-situ.
