An antique Joseph Fitter wind-out table with two fixed leaves and two drop-in leaves. It has turned mahogany legs with reeding, a mahogany frame, original brass castors and mahogany table tops coloured with Walnut varnish. This is matched with 6 high-quality balloon back chairs, which feature tapering fluted legs, moulding and U-shaped bentwood stretchers. The chairs are of a heavy-duty construction.

Here's another high quality antique wind-out table that has been restored in the Fettling Fairies workshops. We also gave it a thorough service before commencing refinishing. 

Multi-coat paint finish:

• thorough preparation
• professionally spray painted
• two coats shellac-based primer
• two coats water-based acrylic resin undercoat
• two coats water based acrylic satin in 'Off Black' to the table frame and legs.
• two coats water-based acrylic satin in 'Cornforth White' to the chairs.
• two coats water based walnut satin varnish to the table tops.
• three coats water-based satin varnish to the table tops.

We re-upholstered the chair backs in Laura Ashley 'Highland Check' in steel and the seats in Laura Ashley 'Edwin Dove Grey'.  We trimmed the upholstery backs with double cord piping in Highland Check and the seats were studded. The fabric has been stain guard protected.

The table is 138cm long when not extended; a (removable) winding handle is of course included.
