An antique satinwood Victorian washstand with tiled upstand and marble top. The table stands on turned legs fitted with original brass and ceramic castors. There is a low shelf and also a full-width drawer. 

Our lovely customer Gemma asked us to find her a feature wash stand for her new ensuite bathroom which she is having built. After considerable searching, we sourced the right piece. When it arrived in our workshops, it had a single (not full-width) cupboard underneath which Gemma asked us to remove. Knowing that Gemma would be having a washbowl and taps fitted, we adapted the drawer so that it would fit around the hidden plumbing but still operate and give storage. We also drilled the marble to refit the upstand flush at the back of the unit. We removed the original (ugly) tiles and cut down and fitted new ones that Gemma supplied. We also drilled the hidden back of the table so that it could be fixed solidly to the wall.

• Thorough preparation
• professionally spray painted
• two coats shellac based primer
• one coat water-based acrylic resin undercoat
• two coats acrylic satin topcoat in 'Moonlit Sky'

The stand measures 107cm to the top of the upstand.
