These are the largest and the most solid set of drawers we have ever come across. They have proved very difficult to date, we do believe them to be pre Victorian 1800-1840 but can't be sure. We think it was originally one of a pair. Ours was in a rather sorry state when we got them, but we could see the potential immediately. Our "Practical Fairy" has done an amazing job repairing and then stripping them back ready for painting.

Once primed and undercoated, the drawers have been painted in "Spell Grey" which is a gorgeous French grey colour. We have used acrylic water based satin paint, which has been carnauba waxed for a smooth and silky finish. The handles are all original, just one repair, although unless you know which, it would be very hard to spot.
