This is a vintage 1950s G Plan Tola teak veneer dressing table. Two drawers to each side with a wider jewellery drawer above the knee-hole. Three mirror set. Matched with a stool from the same period.

We were keen to try different themes with these wonderful floating top dressing tables and here is the first.

Multi-coat paint finish: 

• thorough preparation
• professionally spray painted
• one coat shellac based primer
• one coat water-based acrylic resin undercoat (dark tones)
• three coats water-based acrylic satin topcoat in 'Black'
• one coat water-based satin varnish over decoupage

The drawer fronts were decoupaged with Arthouse "Vintage Lagoon" paper. We refitted the original handles. We lined the drawers with the same paper. We reupholstered the stool in a Rennie Mackintosh Art Deco "Black Tulips", this has been Stainguard protected.
